IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY UPDATED TO iOS 6 GO HERE FOR ACTIVATION!
Only three days after Apple introduced iOS 6 at Monday’s WWDC keynote, a jailbreak has been released by the iPhone dev team. This jailbreak is only compatible with the iPhone 3GS and A4 devices, which include the iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4th gen. So now you’re probably wondering, “what’s the catch?”. That’s pretty simple. It’s a developer-only jailbreak. This means that Cydia isn’t included with the jailbreak; it only includes SSH and afc2 for testing and developing jailbreak apps. We can expect to see Cydia for iOS 6 as soon as a compatible version is coded.
If you’re a developer and would like to jailbreak your compatible iOS device running the iOS 6 beta, Redmond Pie has posted the instructions on their site. Overall, the process is pretty basic as it is based around the Redsn0w tool. Remember, these jailbreaks come without warranty, so if you screw up, it’s your fault!
Finally, this jailbreak is tethered. This means that when you reboot your device, you will have to plug your device into your Mac or PC and run a command. If you don’t, your device won’t boot.
